Why No Equipment Cardio?
Well it is middle of week 2 for Social Distancing, and for me if feels quite normal honestly! I have always written home workouts and I will continue to do so, but now I am just more motivated to pump out some more content, and different styles as well! This No Equipment Cardio workout is actually an update of one that I posted on YouTube about 6 years ago. I wanted to update the video a little bit, and play with beginner video editing! And, even if you are not stuck at home, sometimes we need to shake things up a bit to continue seeing results. So if you are looking for a challenging alternative to that treadmill or stepmill life, then here is the cardio for you!
(PS, the picture on the right is a complete blooper and sadly not apart of the workout UNLESS YOU WANT IT TO BE)
How to do it
This workout is quite a doozy in my opinion. The specs of the workout are below, but you can always modify it! In fact, the video I posted, I include the regular version of the exercise, as well as a lower-intensity modification. That mod can be used if have some knee issues, are a beginner and want to "test the waters," or even if you are simply tired but are not ready to quit. It's a standard format: 3 rounds of 4 different sets of exercises. Each exercise is 30 seconds of work with a quick transition into the next exercise. At the end of the set, rest for 30 seconds (or more if needed! Listen to your body!) and the repeat! It calls for 3 rounds, but you can start with 2, or even 1! Make it your own. To increase the intensity, add 10 seconds of time on to each exercise OR increase the rounds. Do not do both though, one or the other! :).
