Backpack Workout for Total Body

Backpack Workout

Here is a fun workout that requires NO SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, except stuff that you can generally find in your own home. Especially if you have a kid! Even if you cant, some backpacks are super cheap in the store. The one I have, a nifty ol' Five Nights at Freddy's backpack, is only about $10. I just filled the backpack with some books, which made it about 15 lbs, and voila! Insta weight! This is also a fun backpack workout to get the whole family involved. You can take a turn, pass the pack, then they take a turn while you rest. It's a great way for kids to make their parents be empathetic to carrying around a backpack all day (as if we don't already know!)

I love backpacks, or in fitness terms, sandbags, because the weight shifts, it is dynamic. It requires you to make small muscular reactions to account for that weight shift. Its not stable, like a dumbbell or barbell. Even better would be if it was filled with sand or water (but I am not doing that, I care about my carpet thankyouverymuch, books are fine). The exercises are relatively basic, but depending on how you hold the weight, it can be quite challenging!

Scroll on to see the workout! I have included a PDF in the link below that you can click on. This backpack workout and exericses are linked to video demonstrations. So click and like, and don't forget to share with your friends and family!

(Also I was super having fun with playing with cheap-o cell phone editing)
