Killer Five Minute Plank Challenge!

Crunchless Core

Welcome to another workout, this time we have a FIVE MINUTE PLANK CHALLENGE! I love doing challenges and I will continue to do more because they are fun, effective, and don't take that long. Most of them can be done on a flight path whilst playing your favorite RPG!

So why planks? People hate planks! Well, we hate planks because they are hard. And hard means effective. Generally I have discovered that the exercise that is most effective to you, is the one you hate the most, because you are unaccustomed to it. If you are used to doing crunches and sit ups, then yea, planks are hard! Because they work the DEEP CORE. All the little muscles that attach to your spine all around. Those are the muscles that are most effective in helping with posture, back pain, and helping minimize your midsection.

Five Minute Plank Challenge

Planks are boring. How does it feel effective and painful to do an exercise where you are literally NOT MOVING. Hell, I move more when playing video games. And THAT is where the five minute plank challenge comes in! It is not a stationary plank, it is a moving plank! It is DYNAMIC, just like we are! Yea, holding a still plank for 30-60 seconds is great for posture (when you are in the correct position) and strength. But we also need to protect the spine when we are moving, twisting, bending over, and yes, even when we are sitting! Because prolonged sitting destroys the core, but doing things like planks can help reinforce it and strengthen it. I don't know if you have ever tried to hold perfect posture for an hour while sitting, but its hard! It is a workout in itself.

Anywho, enough babbling. On to the challenge!

(Side note - I originally filmed this as an Instagram Live, my first one ever, and I went to save it after, and ERROR. So I had to film it again. BOO. 10 minute ab challenge!)

Want More?

After you are done with your plank challenge, and you want more, try this old working that is still super effective! Its my 36th Birthday Workout!

It is a high repetition, total body workout (yes it involves crunches which I realize totally contradicts what I just wrote here *insert laughing emoji here*
