Strength and Conditioning Coach
I work for the Marine Corps as a Tactical Strength and Conditioning Specialist (TSAC/CSCS) for the High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) Program. That is a lot of acronyms, which means I am legit! But seriously, I love my job, and performance coaching is my specialty. Yes, I can help make you look good, but the goal should always be about health and wellness first, looks second. Chances are, if you are eating to fuel your body, and exercising to be better at something, anything, then your figure will follow. Because sometimes physical or appearance goals are not enough, and people take extreme measure to achieve those, and more often than not, rebound to their former self. I want you to realize your potential physically and mentally, so those rebounds do not occur.
Nerd
I am a self-proclaimed nerd, and it's not just becuase I wear glasses. There are many categories of nerdom, in my opinion: super-smart, tekkie, comic-book aficionado, gamer, books, etc. I happen to fall into the gamer (PC specifically) and book nerd, which is why I have two sections on this site specifically dedicated to those items. I also love cosplay, and although I am not into it as much as some people (hey, it's expensive!), my passion is there, and I will continue to work on it! Plus I want to incorporate costumes into workouts and gaming with exercise! There will be a lot of crossovers to come, and I hope you enoy them!
Figure Competitor
I competed in the NPC from 2011-2014. Although I have hung up my clean heels for now, the time I spent competing was very memorable. There is something about pushing your body to its extreme and seeing it change shape and develop muscles that is just fascinating. I competed in 8 shows, all placing in the top five of my division in the Figure class. This was a wonderful experience and I am glad I was able to do it for a few years. As it were, life got in the way and new priorities came to surface (I have a family and work full time). Competing takes 100% of your dedication, something that I wasn't willing to give anymore. The bodybuilding industry will always hold a very special place in my heart, as will my team and my coaches. I no longer train individuals for competition, but I can most certainly can point you in the right direction if you are interested, so feel free to email me.
Goals
My goals right now....are I have no concrete goals! I really need to work on that. Goal setting is so important, and necessary for success, but sometimes going with the flow for a while is ok too. You don't always have to be 100% put together, becuase that is not realistic. We all struggle, we are all human, and I do not want to come off as better than that. I want to prove that you can achieve what you want, with your busy workflow/gamer/nerdy life. But you know what? Sometimes that means taking a night and stuffing your face with pizza and wine and not feel guilty about it....it's called balance! If I were to narrow it down, my current goal is to become a better version of me. I have been an athlete, a gymnast, and figure competitor, but not all at the same time. I want to be strong AND flexible AND have endurance AND look good, all while playing video games and reading, without having to sacrifice one for the other. Yes, time management may have to be a bigger priority, but we can still do it all!
